Humanique is a private billing practice. Accessible mental healthcare is very important to us. In addition to our low session fees, we do not impose any surcharge for weekend or after-hours bookings.

Our Full session fee BEFORE rebates
This is our Full Session Fees BEFORE Any Rebate. Your out-of-pocket amount will be significantly less with a MHCP and referral (For Medicare Rebates) or Private Health Rebates. Our Fees are structured in such a way that with Medicare rebates, your overall out of pocket fees will be approximately $91.75 .
Accessing Medicare Rebates
Please note that Medicare rebates are not automatic. To be eligible for rebates, you will need a valid MHCP and referral from your GP or specialist. We cannot process any rebate for you without these items. Full fees are payable up front before your rebate can be processed.
To get your medicare rebate for visiting a psychologist, you first have to book an appointment with your GP and let them know you need a mental health care plan (MHCP). Your GP will then work with you to develop this MHCP at your appointment and write you a referral to a psychologist if necessary. Currently, Medicare allows you to see any psychologist you wish with a MHCP even if it is not the one you have been referred to. Please speak with your doctor or send us a message to find out more.
You need to ensure that we receive a copy of your MHCP and referral letter before or at your first session to be eligible to receive your rebate. Usually, you will bring the document with you but in certain cases, your GP might fax it over to us directly. Medicare will rebate a total of 10 sessions per calendar year. Using Private Health Cover
Private health insurance may offer significant rebates depending on your particular policy and level of cover. This could range anywhere from less than $50 to the full amount but you should always check with your provider before you book a session with a psychologist. You do not need any referrals to claim private health rebates and can just make a booking with us directly.
The amount you will be rebated varies greatly between providers, it is always a good idea to check with your health insurance provider beforehand to make sure that your sessions will be covered.
Couples / EAP / Other
Do note that Medicare does not provide a rebate for couples and relationship / marriage counselling. For this service, you will have to pay the full $220 out of pocket at each appointment. We know it can be hard to afford counselling when you are going through a tough time so we have tried to price ourselves affordably.
Humanique currently does not see ICWA or workers comp clients. This may change in the future. For EAP clients, please confirm with your employer as to which providers you can use. Sessions are then billed directly to your employer or EAP provider.
